LONESTAR / THE FIELD GUIDE

Know your edge.

A practical guide to blade shapes, handles and caring for your field kit.

LONESTAR / FIELD NOTES

Notes from the field.

FIELD NOTE № 01
BLADE NOTES

Read the blade profile.

Start with the work. A curved belly gives a longer slicing surface, while a straighter edge makes short, controlled cuts easier to judge. Look at the whole silhouette before choosing a size.

FIELD NOTE № 02
HANDLE NOTES

Find your grip.

Handle shape matters as much as material. Look for a comfortable width, a surface you can hold securely, and a transition from handle to blade that suits the way you work.

FIELD NOTE № 03
CARE NOTES

Keep steel field-ready.

After camp, wash the blade by hand with mild soap and dry it thoroughly. Store it dry, separate from damp leather, and follow the maker’s care notes for the handle and sheath.
